The Chicago Bears will be without one of their defensive tackles for the forseeable future. On Wednesday, the Bears made a few roster moves, most notably placing defensive tackle Kentavius Street on injured reserve. In addition, the Bears signed tight end Stephen Carlson to the active roster and signed defensive end Earnest Brown IV to the practice squad.
Street suffered a knee injury during the fourth quarter of Monday's 34-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Head coach Ben Johnson said he is "likely" out for the year. The Bears signed Street to a one-year deal in the spring, and he finishes the season with nine tackles (two for loss), one sack, and one QB hit. Prior to the arrival of Jeffery Simmons, Street had started every game for the Bears.
Meanwhile, Carlson rejoins the Bears and will help fill the void left by Cole Kmet, who was lost for the season with a knee injury in Week 7. Carlson has been with the Bears since 2023 and has spent the majority of his tenure on the practice squad. He was elevated to the active roster on Monday and played 10 offensive snaps.
Finally, Brown joins the practice squad after bouncing around the league. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 and last played in the league in 2024 as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
