At a crucial time of the season, the midfielder has been ruled out of action, reducing options ahead of this weekend’s clash.
Michael Carrick is already facing tough decisions at Manchester United as he looks to balance player recovery in his selection process.
That is why Carlos Baleba took so long to make his debut for the club after signing from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer and why Noussair Mazraoui missed Tuesday’s clash with Atletico Madrid.
It is a difficult balance to maintain for Carrick, too, especially given the increasing pressure that exists on the manager to deliver success for supporters.
Away from Old Trafford, several promising Manchester United players are spending time at senior clubs on loan in their pursuit of developing professionally.
After already making four league appearances for the Hatters, though, the midfielder has now been ruled out of action with a groin injury.
Speaking to Luton Today ahead of his side’s clash with MK Dons today, manager Jack Wilshere said: “This game will probably come a little bit too soon for him.
“We were doing a small-sided game and he slipped and hurt his groin which is frustrating for us and for him.”
It is not all bad news for Luton fans, however, with Wilshere also saying that Gore is not too far away from returning to contention.
Whilst that good news may help to settle thoughts, Gore’s injury does add to the list of Luton players on the sidelines currently, something that is limiting Wilshere’s options on matchday.
Returning Dan Gore to action as soon as possible could be crucial for the Hatters, therefore, who are set to face high-flying Huddersfield Town at the start of next month.
For Jack Wilshere, having the midfielder back amongst his options may be imperative as he looks to make the most out of his first season at Luton Town.
