All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons told reporters on Wednesday that as far as he knew, he wasn’t going to be traded before the deadline.
But maybe he packed a go bag anyway, just in case — because now he needs it.
According to multiple reports, the Titans have agreed to trade Simmons to the Bears.
To complete the deal, Chicago receives Simmons and a 2028 fifth-round pick. Tennessee will receive 2027 and 2028 first-round picks along with a fourth-round pick in 2027.
Simmons, 29, is a four-time Pro Bowler and was an AP first-team All-Pro for the first time last season. He registered a career-high 11.0 sacks with 17 tackles for loss and 21 quarterback hits in 2025.
The No. 19 overall pick of the 2019 draft, Simmons has tallied 46.5 sacks, 72 tackles for loss, and 96 QB hits in his career.
In seven games this season, Simmons has registered 4.0 sacks, six TFLs, and nine QB hits.
The Titans and Simmons had agreed to a three-year $105.8 million contract extension before the season. Now, Simmons will head to Chicago to help a defense that currently ranks No. 8 in yards allowed and No. 9 in points allowed.
