After failing once again in his pursuit of the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Money in the Bank, LA Knight is very much back to the drawing board on Raw.
After giving a dejected backstage interview with Jackie Redmond last week, “The Megastar” was completely absent from the October 19 episode of Raw, leaving his immediate plans on the red brand up in the air.
While a cooling off period after such a major storyline isn’t always the worst thing, one week off TV can quickly turn to one month, then two, and so on and so on.
WWE should be looking to get Knight back on TV sooner rather than later as there’s still angles he could be involved in on Raw, and any of these options would be better than sitting at home.
Here are two potential next storylines for LA Knight after missing this week’s Raw:
The most obvious route forward for LA Knight on WWE Raw involves the ongoing 946 and Bloodline conflict.
Knight was one of 946’s first victims when Royce Keys, Lucien Price & Bronco Nima gatecrashed a tag team match between Knight & Solo Sikoa against The Usos, but “The Megastar” has kept his distance from the group ever since.
That was mostly to focus on his World Heavyweight Title match with Roman Reigns however, but now that opportunity has come and gone, he could get back involved in 946’s business.
Rather than teaming with Sikoa and The Bloodline however, Knight could instead turn heel and align himself with Royce Keys’ group for the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series. This wouldn’t be a permanent allegiance, but one for a specific purpose, as there’s no way Knight wouldn’t be feeling a little bit betrayed by seeing his friend Solo Sikoa back involved with his family after everything they put him through.
It doesn’t feel like LA Knight has any way back into World Heavyweight Title contention on Raw, at least not any time soon, as Roman Reigns is busy with the 946 and Royce Keys and then will be likely facing Oba Femi at WrestleMania 43.
While he may be at the back of the line, there is one way Knight could force his way to the front, and that is by targeting the current Mr. Money in the Bank Penta.
It hasn’t happened all that often, but we have seen Money in the Bank briefcases defended in the past, and on even rarer occasions (Edge in 2007 and The Miz in 2020) we’ve seen it change hands.
WWE maybe wouldn’t need to go as far as doing that, but a heel LA Knight acting out of desperation and goading Penta into putting his briefcase on the line would be an interesting next angle for the Maryland native.
