Callum Osmand has marked a huge day in his Celtic career with a short message to supporters after scoring twice on his first professional start.

Osmand scored Celtic’s third of the afternoon after Camilo Duran slipped him through, before adding another moments later with a close-range header after Duran kept the move alive.

It was a brilliant first-half showing from the forward, who had already written himself into this fixture last season with the goal that helped Celtic seal the title against Hearts.

This time, he helped Celtic blow the Tynecastle side apart in a 7-1 win that moved the Hoops four points clear of Rangers at the top of the Premiership.

After the game, Osmand posted on Instagram: “First ever professional start and a huge win ! 💚 Thank you everyone for the support🫶”

The player said after the match that he was “all good” and happy with where he is physically after only playing 45 minutes.

Celtic will hope that proves to be the case, with Celta Vigo visiting Celtic Park on Thursday night in the Europa League.

Osmand’s first start could hardly have gone better.

Two goals, a huge win, and a clear sign that O’Neill now has another attacking option pushing hard for minutes.
