Ryan Garcia has demanded that Floyd Mayweather get down to business after negotiations began for a fight between the pair.
Current WBC welterweight champion Garcia defended his belt for the first time last month in a vicious beatdown of Conor Benn at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Now, his star is bigger than ever and there are a number of major names on the table.
After a vicious knockout of Conor Benn in Las Vegas, who should Ryan Garcia face next?
The most realistic next fight is his long-time rival Teofimo Lopez, who just defeated Rolly Romero for the WBA welterweight belt. In recent weeks, though, undefeated boxing icon Mayweather has emerged as a very serious possible opponent for his title.
It has been a fun victory lap for Ryan Garcia since his second round KO victory over Conor Benn in Las Vegas. He has been doing the media rounds across America, and on Friday night was in Miami for Brand Risk Promotions.
Flaunting his belt, Garcia got into it with legendary former fighter Adrien Broner during an interview with Fred Beck of Fred Talks Fighting. He also spoke about the negotiations with Floyd Mayweather, claiming that they have begun.
During a chaotic segment, Garcia asked Broner “You think Floyd can f— with me?” He also claimed that he will “knock out Floyd,” claiming that “If I get him hurt early it’s over. I’ve seen him, he’s a small man, his wrists are baby’s, he is a small man…. I don’t give a f— what his name is… You know what? F— him.”
