Mike Penders had a tricky start to his Chelsea career, scoring an own goal against Tottenham on his debut.
But in the three games he’s played since he’s done well, and really looks to have shaken off any bad memories from that moment.
One of his big highlights has come in the second half against Sunderland. He dived at the feet of Wilson Isidor and blocked his shot at point blank range.
After the international break Emi Martinez will be back to claim his number one spot again. But Penders has done his reputation no harm in stepping in for these last weeks.

The introduction of Estevao today was predictable – the player taken off for him less so.
The refereeing in the first half caused a lot of displeasure among Chelsea fans, who saw one penalty given against them and one they thought they deserved denied.
Romeo Lavia started today, his third start in a week for the Blues. It’s a crucial moment in his Chelsea career as he finally picks up momentum.
