Joe Burrow had one more person to catch up with after helping the Cincinnati Bengals outlast the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
Following Cincinnati’s 43-36 overtime victory at Paycor Stadium, Burrow appeared to run after Titans quarterback Cam Ward to offer a postgame greeting.
WDTN Sports Director Joey DeBerardino pointed out that quarterbacks typically meet at midfield after games and lauded Burrow for making the effort to find his counterpart.
“Burrow, a class act as always,” DeBerardino wrote.
The moment followed a game in which both quarterbacks gave their teams a chance to win. Burrow threw for 462 yards and five touchdowns, while Ward finished with 304 passing yards and two touchdown passes.
Burrow also overcame three interceptions, then came through with his legs in overtime. His 9-yard touchdown run capped Cincinnati’s opening possession of the extra period, and the Bengals’ defense stopped Tennessee on its ensuing drive to finish the job.
Ward’s performance marked his first 300-yard passing game, according to the Titans, although Tennessee fell to 1-7.
Cincinnati improved to 5-2.
