Chwalinska delights fans with speech

Maja Chwalinska has been loving life at the Wuhan Open. She made her tournament debut this week, and went on to win a maiden tour-level title.

And the 16th seed delighted the crowd by speaking some Chinese during her victory speech. She also congraulated Kartal and thanked her own team.

"First of all, congrats to Sonay on a great week. You are such an impressive player. I had a chance to watch a few of your matches, and I was very impressed. I wish you all the best, and I’m sure great things are ahead of you," the Pole said.

"I would like to thank everyone who made this tournament possible, so all of the partners, title sponsors, sponsors, all the referees, supervisors, tournament director, ball kids, volunteers, everyone. You made us feel like home, so I think we all appreciate it.

"I would like to thank my team, of course. My two coaches, my physio for being with me this week, but every week basically! A few people are definitely watching at home, so they know who they are. I’m very grateful for every person in my life, basically. So yeah, thank you so much!"
