Nottingham Forest have signed a number of players since returning to the Premier League, with the summer of 2025 one of the most prolific in the transfer market.

The Reds were facing a season playing Europa League football in 2025/26 and subsequently set about attacking the transfer market to bolster the options available to the head coach.

Nuno Espirito Santo disagreed with Edu on certain transfer dealings. As a result, he walked away after three matches, with Ange Postecoglou, Sean Dyche and Vitor Pereira all managing the club last season too.

Now, one player signed by Edu is actually being missed at the City Ground, and fans feel that he should have been given more of a chance to shine in the current setup.

Would you prefer Oliver Glasner to try this for a few games or stick with his 3-4-2-1?

Fans think Omari Hutchinson should have been kept

Hutchinson didn’t do too badly in his maiden campaign at the City Ground. His season didn’t start too well, but once Dyche had been appointed, he found himself thrust into the first-team spotlight.

Hutchinson was a lively member of the front line and often helped Forest find a creative spark in matches. With Oliver Glasner not choosing to play with wingers in his team, he allowed him to join Milan on loan, and now some fans have suggested this has proved a mistake, with the debate rife on TalkingPoints.

Hutchinson has been the topic of discussion at games this season. On the grapevine, it’s suggested that the player wasn’t given assurances over game time, and that proved pivotal in his decision to leave.

Furthermore, Milan are a footballing powerhouse. Quite clearly Hutchinson was going to be keen to make the switch to the San Siro, but there is an argument that he could have made an impact on Trentside under Glasner.

The beauty of Hutchinson is that he’s direct. He drives at opposing players, and in one of the number 10 positions, he could definitely have been a better option than Dan Ndoye.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Hutchinson, but this does already feel like one that might have got away from a Forest perspective.
