There were a lot of headlines regarding Hyeongyu Oh’s return to Celtic with Beşiktaş in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Thankfully, from Celtic’s perspective, Oh wasn’t able to get on the scoresheet, as Celtic beat Beşiktaş 3-2 in a thrilling finish, which saw Camilo Duran net a brace.

Celtic BEAT Besiktas 3-2 to pick up their first win in the Europa League! What is your immediate reaction to that? 🤩 WHAT A ROLLERCOASTER!
Usually, players from the opposition, if they do or don’t know each other, would shake hands and acknowledge one another as they start to line up inside the tunnel.
In this case, both Celtic and Beşiktaş were set, the officials were ready, and it was a case of just getting the green light to walk out.
But Oh, who started the game, went towards the front of the line and purposely stopped himself to acknowledge and shake hands with McGregor.
It was one of several classy actions from Oh, who also claimed that he would probably ‘cry’ if he scored against the Hoops.
Thankfully, Celtic were celebrating at the full-time whistle, as Oh didn’t have the impact he desired in a game of two halves, when it comes to entertainment and goals.
It has been two years since Oh left Celtic to join Genk, a road that led him to Turkey, where he is still with Beşiktaş.
A lot has changed at Celtic since then, including managers and players, as the club has massively declined.
What’s interesting is that Oh had a very physical battle with Liam Scales, a player he knows very well, during the game.
So how many of the squad players that Celtic picked for this fixture were at the club, or active, when Oh was in Glasgow?
