The New York Knicks are set to host their championship banner-raising and ring ceremony on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden before kicking off their regular 2026/27 NBA season against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The ceremony is expected to get underway from around 6:30pm Eastern Time ahead of the game starting at 7pm ET.
It will, of course, be the first time in 53 years that the Knicks have been able to host a Banner Night and a number of notable celebrities should be in attendance to witness what is a historic evening in New York.
With that in mind, several famous Knicks fans and familiar courtside faces could show up on Tuesday, including Ben Stiller.
It has emerged that the ceremony will begin with superfan Stiller narrating a video for the Knicks, so he is also likely to be at Madison Square Garden on the night.
The actor is one of the most vocal celebrity fans of the current NBA champions, often expressing his feelings on X/Twitter.
Elsewhere, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were regular followers of the New York outfit during their 2025/26 postseason run, with the pair attending a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Swift also present for Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
It is worth noting that Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs do not have a game tonight, so he could be available to join Swift at the game.
Another big celebrity couple who may attend the ceremony is Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.
MORE TRAVIS KELCE STORIES
Chalamet is a long-time Knicks supporter, while Jenner revealed in August that she has fallen in love with the team.
She said: “There’s something about the energy in the stadium and [in Madison Square Garden] and being there. It was so much fun, and then I followed them for those two seasons.
“I never was into it unless it was, like, someone was married or dating someone and then I would watch it. It wasn’t until I went to my first Knicks game that I fell in love.”
Chris Rock is another big Knicks fan who may be expecting more than just a seat at Tuesday’s game.
Rock made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this month and joked that he deserves his own championship ring.
He stated: “I did win the championship. I contributed so much. There were at least three guys on the bench who did not do as much as I did.
“I deserve a ring, to tell you the truth. I deserve a ring, I deserve a necklace.”
While Chris Rock may be a dedicated, lifelong supporter, there is perhaps no bigger fan than Spike Lee.
Lee has been a staple at Madison Square Garden for decades, first getting a season ticket back in 1985.
The filmmaker and actor even went on record prior to this year’s championship success to say he’d trade an Oscar for the Knicks to win a championship.
Finally, Adam Sandler could make an appearance at MSG to watch his team collect their rings.
The well-known actor has been a regular at Knicks games for many years and was spotted at Game 4 of the NBA Finals taking pictures with fans.
Sandler spoke out after attending Game 4 with his wife, saying at the time that ‘It was tremendous’.
