George Pickens was the subject of much speculation at The Star on Thursday. One, there was his "limited" status in the day's practice session. He's been seen icing a shoulder during the Cowboys' past two games, and while it's not believed he's in any real danger as it pertains to Monday's Week 7 readiness, it's worth keeping an eye on. But then there were the remarks from Brian Schottenheimer that suggest the head coach may not be thrilled with Pickens's effort on plays he's not a part of. It's another situation to watch as two straight losses may be bringing out tensions in the locker room.
The suddenly-struggling offense is under the microscope in this recap of the day's headlines. Dak Prescott has slipped in the QB rankings, in large part due to how teams are attacking him in the pocket. What's normally been a strength for Prescott has been disastrous of late; could other teams have cracked the code on how to beat Dak with the blitz?
Thursday brought good news on the defensive front, though, as several injured playmakers are trending in the right direction: DeMarvion Overshown, Cobie Durant, and Marist Liufau were all back at practice.
In Philly, running back Saquon Barkley looks to be ready to make his return versus Dallas after sitting out the Eagles' last two games. Quarterback Tanner McKee will try to rally his teammates around him, and the more the organization insists they handled the Jalen Hurts situation properly, the more questions pop up that suggest they have something to hide.
Elsewhere in the league, Rams star Puka Nacua may have a new injury, the NFL is moving forward with this weekend's Saints-Steelers matchup in Paris despite worrisome civil unrest in the French capital, and J.J. Watt has officially been handed the CBS job left vacant by Tony Romo. In sad news, Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk reveals he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. And the Falcons thought they were putting out a cool look at their throwback logo on the socials... but they had no idea what kind of backlash they were about to get over what people actually saw.
