The New England Patriots lost their Week 7 matchup against the Chicago Bears by a 30-24 final score.
With this loss, the Patriots now have a 4-3 record and failed to get closer to the first-place Buffalo Bills in the AFC East standings. Now, days after their loss to the Bears, the Patriots have parted ways with their longtime punter.
According to ESPN's Ian Rapoport, the Patriots are releasing punter Bryce Baringer.
Baringer had been on injured reserve for New England and did not make an appearance for them this season before being released. Now, the 27-year-old punter will be looking to find an opportunity elsewhere with a new team.
Teams looking for a new punter could consider taking a gamble on Baringer. He spent each of the three previous seasons as the Patriots' starting punter, so he has a good amount of NFL experience.
Over his three seasons with the Patriots, Baringer recorded 219 punts and 10,500 punting yards in 51 games.
