The ladies’ threes secured their first win of the season with a one-nil victory over Bishop’s Stortford six.

Emma finished Ang’s pass in the second half after Stevenage had created several chances and short corners without finding a breakthrough before the interval.

Jane then made an important clearance from a late Bishop’s Stortford short corner to preserve the lead.

The ladies’ first team drew two-two at Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead, with Holly Manning scoring twice in two minutes.

Manning struck in the 64th and 66th minutes to turn a deficit into a lead, before the hosts levelled again shortly afterwards.

The ladies’ seconds were beaten two-one away by Bishop’s Stortford four, despite taking an early lead through Chloe Louise.

Claire Westie’s quick injection set up the opener, but the home side responded with two goals as Stevenage tired.

The ladies’ fours won one-nil against Bishop’s Stortford, with Lily Hawkes scoring from the rebound after Suzie Strange had been denied by the goalkeeper.

Liz Siddall also saved a penalty stroke during her first spell in goal and was named player of the match.

The ladies’ fives defeated Shefford and Sandy’s development side after a four-goal display from Suzie Strange.

Stevenage led two-nil before the hosts reduced the deficit, then the development side managed two quick goals to bring the scores level, but Strange completed her haul to settle the contest.

Natalie Bailey made several important saves during the match, while Kay Serofia helped create opportunities with strong running and distribution.

The men’s first team produced the biggest win of the day, defeating Blueharts 3 one-seven in a one-sided contest.

Alex Harley and Jack Scott helped Stevenage move four goals ahead inside the opening minutes, with Harley and Michael Oliver both adding further goals before half-time.

Michael scored twice, while Aiden Parker added another after the interval, although Blueharts claimed a late consolation.

The men’s seconds lost three-one to Bedford four after Callum Matthews had equalised in the 16th minute.

The men’s thirds were beaten five-three by Old Haberdashers two after Lawrie Western scored twice during a fast-moving first half.

Matt Oliver gave the men’s fourth team a first-half lead against MBDA, but two quick goals after the interval condemned them to a two-one derby defeat.

The supplied report does not mention Stevenage’s next fixture.
