Former coaches and players from Smith and Wynn Jones’ period as joint majority shareholders were at Carrow Road as part of a moving pre-match tribute.
“It was a very, very emotional moment before the game, and I would have wanted to give everything to give her joy,” said Clement, who had made it clear pre-match what it mean to mark the occasion with a win. "For everybody involved in this club.
"I had a luck in this past year to get to know Delia and Michael. We spoke also before the game about giving the result to Delia.
"In these circumstances, for example, the players really wanted it, but then you need to learn also when you have the ball to calm down and to keep an overview instead of going in and rushing with the head down, and that happened too much.

“It's very disappointing to lose, of course, and frustrating. I saw a lot of passion from the team to get the result, but not enough overview – for sure to give the decisive pass, or the decisive run to make the difference.
"We didn't create enough for the possession that we had on their half, for sure in second half. In the first half we had several good transition moments that we lacked the last pass, or we started to shoot from 30 yards, things like that.
"It's finding the combination between passion and overview, and that's the main thing we missed. The structure was there because we didn't give almost anything away. The duels, a lot of duels were won.
"All the players wanted to go full for it, but we lacked clinical decision-making in the key moments.”
Marezi (Marko Milovanović) slotted a second half penalty, after Jacob Wright, upended former City academy attacker, Abu Kamara.
“Several players were not convinced that it's a penalty, but I don't want to make any talk about that,” said Clement. “I want to focus on our team and what we can do. The other things we cannot do anything about, and that's why my focus is not there.
"It's about getting the team back on track. In terms of structure that was a big difference for me with this game, for example, in the Bolton game and also in these last two games against Swansea and Southampton.
"They showed the teamwork is there and now getting more calmness, more quality on the ball, more overview in our final selections, and then you can make the step forward.”
