Jadon Sancho was once considered one of England's biggest prospects. Earning his stripes in Germany, dominating the Bundesliga, clubs were circling for his signature, and he looked set to enjoy a stellar career.
However, in recent years, he has taken a different path. After a £70 million move to Manchester United, he failed to set Old Trafford alight, and after loan spells at Aston Villa, Borussia Dortmund and even Chelsea, he has now ended up as a free agent.
He is still young, and despite not landing a contract at a new club just yet, rumours are swirling that numerous clubs are attempting to bring the former Manchester City academy player to their club.
And now, one of the interested clubs has had their proposal leaked, and it is some way off what Sancho once earned.
Being a free agent, Sancho is able to join a club whenever he sees fit, and therefore poses as a good option for clubs who are desperate for reinforcements despite transfer windows being shut until January.
However, due to a poor few years, Sancho has struggled to attract interest from big European clubs and, moreover, is not in a position to demand the wages he was given during the peak of his career.
According to The Telegraph, Spanish club Getafe have shown interest in the English winger and have reportedly offered him a contract. The contract proposed is rumoured to pay Sancho roughly £10,000 a week, a huge fall from his lucrative deal at Old Trafford, which reportedly saw him take home £250,000 a week.

Whilst Sancho hasn't accepted the contract, he is intrigued by the idea, believing La Liga could be a good platform to rejuvenate his career and make his way back to the top.
Sancho wants to meet Getafe coach Jose Bordalás before putting pen to paper on any deal. Bordalas has recently been critical of his club, believing they failed in the summer over recruitment.
The proposed Getafe offer would see Sancho earn roughly £335,000 up until the end of the season in June, which is when the contract would terminate. For the average person, it is still a hefty amount of money to earn until summer. However, for Sancho, it is a huge step-down from what he once earned.
After making his £70 million move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United in 2021, it was reported that he was earning £250,000 every single week, therefore meaning he would earn his proposed Getafe salary in just over a week if he was still at United.
Even when he had numerous loan spells at Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea and Aston Villa, where he won the Europa League, he was still earning his £250,000 a week, with the two clubs splitting the cost.
From the outside, signing a contract for just over £10,000 a week may appear confusing when you had most recently been earning over 20 times that amount; for Sancho, it presents a good opportunity to enjoy playing football again and re-establish himself as a tricky winger.
