Former WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes has experienced many historic moments since returning in 2022. He has shared major rivalries with Roman Reigns, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, and John Cena. Rhodes also witnessed several major heel turns during this period. However, he believes one moment changed WWE forever.

Cody Rhodes says WWE WrestleMania 40 changed the entire company

Speaking on the Double Coverage Podcast, Rhodes reflected on WrestleMania 40. He described the event as a defining moment for WWE. According to Rhodes, the entire company changed afterward.

He said, “The other thing is, it’s such a powerful moment. We’re still talking about it because all of modern WWE stems out of it. It’s new management. There’s new people in the corporate world. There’s new people in the comms department. There’s new people in photography. The whole company changed at that period of time.”

“So to be part of that and to be part of that change was just, that’s a real honor. I wish more of our roster and the younger ones, that’s just an old man talking, but I wish more of them knew what an opportunity you have. You’re at a time where you grew up and the story you had with your dad and all that. Not everyone was talking about wrestling all the time. Not everyone was right there and it wasn’t on ESPN. It wasn’t on Netflix.”

“It is for a reason and it all stemming out of that WrestleMania 40 situation. I talked to you about ambition earlier. I’m ambitious. I want more, right? But if I never got more, I was there in that moment and that’s top five, maybe top moment in wrestling. You could put anyone in my spot, right? Well, maybe not, but I’ll say you could. But I was honored to be part of a moment like that, that everything changes in our industry.” [H/T: Fightful]
