Rangers celebrate

Rangers manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Scotland: "[Hearts] need to defend the set-play at the end if they are going to get their victory and we've obviously taken advantage.

"Hearts had two or three top performers tonight. We scored a brilliant goal but didn't do that enough. It was two teams playing very direct. [Josh] McPake and [Calvin] Miller were very strong.

"I thought we were fortunate to go in 1-0 up at half-time. I don't think any team really grabbed the game and controlled the game, but I think Hearts had more opportunities to play in our half. It was a very topsy-turvy game. When we did get a chance to transition on them, we never quite looked after the ball well enough.

"Disappointed that from a winning position we never kicked on from that. The last chance at the death we should score. Findlay Curtis, what a cross he's put in... It was begging to be eaten up and it's a bit strange how its not gone into the back of the net.

"The top end of my side, they're very young and sometimes they need to come through these types of games and atmospheres, but we have to say we didn't play to our level, but the spirit and resilience to keep going...

"We could've gone on to win it, that would've been unfair on Hearts but we would've obviously taken that."

On his reception, McInnes added: "It was exactly what I thought, it's football, it's Scottish football. Hopefully history can be kind."

And on the tense handshake with Wouter Vrancken: "I actually don't know [what happened]. Maybe just got caught up in the heat of the moment. I thought he was going to thank me for leaving him such a strong squad. He's very lucky to inherit such a strong squad of players."

Dundee are up to fourth and Kilmarnock slump to the bottom of the table.

More defensive woes for Neil McCann, who sees his team concede two painful goals in the final seven minutes.

In fairness, the first of those late salvos was a fantastic header from Ashley Hay, who'd already had a goal ruled out for handball.

The second, though? Debutant goalkeeper Nico Mantl came racing from his net in bizarre circumstances, allowing Hay to gallop into the box and put into the empty goal.

Kilmarnock had fought back from Joe Bevan's neat opener when Joe Hugill levelled from the penalty spot, but as they fall back to bottom spot, their ugly 'goals against' figure rises to a league-worst 26.

Stephen Robinson should never have got the Aberdeen job awful manager. If the board have any bottle he should be sacked tonight. Awful appointment.

Not been this disillusioned in an Aberdeen team since the Steve Paterson era. We have absolutely nothing about us. Nothing.

Dave Cormack needs to walk at Aberdeen, the fans have surely had enough of his dismal handling of the club, lacks all the attributes of a football chair and the what needed on the field of play

The St Johnstone fans are getting a little agitated about the lack of urgency from their team.

Motherwell have been the better team and Saints look a bit nervous at the back, making some unforced errors.

We do know that Motherwell have been conceding some soft goals lately though...

Martin O'Neill has responded to that first-half turnaround by United with two changes at the break for Celtic.

Callum Osmand and Kasper Hogh, whose wait for a goal has now extended to 14 games, have been hooked.

Jota and Haissem Hassan are thrown on to the wings, with scorer Camilo Duran pushed through the middle in place of the misfiring Dane.

How have Dundee not scored?

First, Joe Bevan turns the Kilmarnock defence inside out down the right, and his shot is deflected into the side netting.

Kilmarnock clear the corner, but it's sent back in to Bradley Fink, who has a free header six yards out.

The in-form striker puts it straight at Nico Mantl, and he can't sort his feet out to poke the rebound home. It bounces off the post and away.

What an opportunity.

That rather sums up Motherwell's season so far.

They have dominated the ball in the opening stages, playing lots of nice stuff without asking too many questions of Toby Steward in the St Johnstone goal.

And with pretty much their first sniff of goal, Saints take the lead.

Hibs boss Marink Reedijk tells BBC Scotland: "I see a lot of progress from the first to third match, in training, everything becomes more clear for the guys as well.

"Step by step we come closer to the result.

"If you look at how we performed on the pitch, I think there are a lot of things to work on and build on, I am not dissatisfied with the start but if you look to results obviously I am.

"Nicky Cadden has shown that he is ready for 90 minutes. Tonight is a good opportunity for him and I think the way St Mirren play also suits him.

"We need the same intensity and braveness against the ball, also the chance creation on the ball. The more chances you create, the more opportunities you have to score a goal.

"It will come, I'm sure about that. I see the qualities the players have, I see everything during the week, this makes me confident that if we keep on doing what we're doing, with a little bit of extra, the goals will come as well."

Falkirk manager John McGlynn tells BBC Scotland: "It was a good win against Kilmarnock at the weekend, conditions weren't great but we showed the right attitude to go and play the right way.

"We've been very consistent, barring one or two late goals we could have had even more points. Aberdeen had a good victory here against St Mirren, and they've got a cup semi-final coming up, so they've got plenty to play for.

"We've got to look after ourselves, we can do ourselves a lot of good tonight by getting three points.

"I've seen a difference in the last couple of games, it's really come together. It has slowly been building, but you don't want to get too carried away - just around the corner you can get a kick in the teeth."
