Sorensen had not been involved in training earlier in the day, but Maloney explained that the midfielder has now returned and will be available for selection at Celtic Park.
Speaking to Sky Sports Scotland, Maloney said: “Auston Trusty has got a private matter, so he won’t make tomorrow. Oliver Sorensen was similar but he’s back in the country today so he’ll be available tomorrow.
That is a useful boost for Celtic ahead of a game they badly need to win.
The Hoops have lost their opening two Europa League league phase matches against Ferencvaros and Benfica, leaving them under pressure to get points on the board against Celta Vigo.
Sorensen gives Celtic another midfield option at a time when the fixtures are coming quickly.
Callum McGregor was taken off on the hour mark against Hearts on Sunday, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain came on during the 7-1 win and will also be pushing for minutes.
Mika Baur and Benjamin Nygren both started at the weekend and impressed, with Nygren scoring twice as Celtic blew Hearts away at Parkhead.
Sorensen has had to be patient since arriving at Celtic, but his return is a boost during a busy domestic and European run.
That makes Sorensen’s return to the squad all the more useful. Celtic will need options from the bench, especially if the game becomes stretched late on.
Thursday night is about getting the European campaign moving. Sorensen is back in the group, and Celtic will hope that helps them manage a massive night at Parkhead.
