The Blackburn Rovers head coach signed Morrison during his first stint at The Hawthorns. The midfielder went on to make 73 appearances under Mowbray between 2007 to 2009.
Now, he'll be taking on his former boss, who he has huge respect for. He believes Rovers are performing above expectations which is credit to Mowbray.
“I’m definitely looking forward to seeing him," he said.
"It’s always a pleasure to be in his company and I love talking football with him. I still look up to him as my gaffer.
"It’ll be great to compete against him and I hope he gets the reception he deserves. We’ll have a good conversation after the game.
“You’ve got to remember the good times he had at the club, getting promotion, getting to the FA Cup semi-final.
“He’s doing a really good job with Blackburn at the moment and I think he’s outperforming where most people thought they would be.
“They’ve got some exciting young players, they’ve won three of their last four, and even their defeats have only been by a single goal, so it’s not going to be an easy match at all.
“But we’re looking to back up a victory, which is important in this division, and we want to get our home record back on track.”
West Brom came from behind late on to beat Wrexham in the week, bringing an end to a dip in form.
With a young squad, Morrison insisted there would continue to be peaks and troughs.
“In the Championship there are going to be ups and downs. It can’t all be plain sailing," he said.
“We had not really felt that (a setback), the group, for a long time.
“We need to be realistic, we have a young team which is still gelling, still finding our feet.
“We are going to have that. It is all about how we react and how we break that slump, as I heard it called.
“Hopefully Tuesday got us back a bit of rhythm, a bit of momentum.”
