Mustafa Ali could be approaching an important decision about his wrestling future. His current TNA Wrestling contract is reportedly set to expire at the end of 2026.

While the former champion’s deal nears its conclusion, there are positive signs that the promotion wants to keep him around.

According to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, Ali’s contract runs through the end of this year. Sources familiar with the situation said that “Ali is highly regarded within TNA”, with the company expected to make an offer to retain his services.

Confirmation about a new agreement has not come to light. So, his status heading into 2027 is worth watching.

TNA reportedly wants to retain Mustafa Ali

Ali joined TNA in 2024 and has since established himself as an important member of the roster. He is a former X-Division Champion and International Champion. Moreover, his work in 2026 has also accelerated Jason Hotch’s development as a performer.

His contributions haven’t been limited to what fans see inside the ring. Ali previously revealed that he has been informally scouting talent while working independent wrestling dates, occasionally passing recommendations to TNA management when he comes across promising performers.

That additional involvement gives TNA another reason to value his presence, particularly as the company considers its roster plans for the coming year.

Fightful’s report indicates TNA is expected to put an offer on the table. Nevertheless, Ali has not publicly committed to an extension. He could decide to leave the promotion for pastures anew.

For now, Ali remains part of TNA’s roster, but his contract situation puts his future firmly on the company’s radar. Whether the two sides can agree on fresh terms before the calendar turns to 2027 remains to be seen.
