Denver Broncos wide receiver Jaylen Waddle took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Carolina Panthers safety Zakee Wheatley late in the first quarter of Sunday's game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The hit was not penalized, but cornerback Marco Wilson was penalized for pass interference and then for taunting (standing over Waddle) after the play. Waddle left the field and went into the team's blue medical tent before later leaving the sideline and going into the locker room to be evaluated for a possible concussion.
Before leaving the game, Waddle had one catch for 22 yards. Denver's remaining healthy receivers with Waddle in the locker room are Courtland Sutton, Pat Bryant, Marvin Mims and Troy Franklin.
Elsewhere on the injury front, the CBS broadcast showed Broncos quarterback Bo Nix appearing to have some neck discomfort in the first quarter, but the QB remained in the game.
Later, in the second quarter, cornerback Riley Moss went down after tackling Panthers running back Trevor Etienne. Moss was able to walk off the field and went into the locker room. Moss is also being evaluated for a possible concussion.
