East Budleigh beat University Res 4-0 to move third

East Budleigh returned to action last Saturday carrying on their great run of form with a convincing win against the Students of Exeter.

The pitch was in perfect condition and it's always a tough game against the Uni, but the Jays were quick off the mark creating some early chances.

Rian Hill as ever was a constant threat and got his reward with the first goal when he found the corner of the net from a tight angle.

Towards the end of the half the hosts came more into the game, but Budleigh went into the break a goal up.

In the second half Budleigh upped the intensity taking their game to the opponent with Toby and Brad Hill causing problems on the flanks.

Goal number two came from a set piece with the above mentioned combining to put the ball into the near post where Jed Moore de Meynier flicked a nice finish into the roof of the net.

It was then left to Player of the Match Toby Hill to add goals three and four.

Firstly he picked the ball up inside his own half, carrying it to the edge of the box before drilling his shot past the host keeper.

Shortly after he picked up the ball before cutting inside from the left to fire a powerful shot inside the near post.

It was an excellent performance that puts Budleigh into third in the table, one place behind Westexe who visit East Budleigh next Saturday in what should be a tough encounter.
