Chelsea scouts compile weekly reports on four Premier League midfielders including Newcastle star Lewis Miley
Xabi Alonso

Chelsea scouts are filing weekly reports on Newcastle United midfielder Lewis Miley alongside three other young Premier League talents. Even as Xabi Alonso pushes to wrap up a January deal for Alex Scott, the Blues are already planning their next midfield moves.

Scouts at Stamford Bridge are watching four young Premier League midfielders every weekend. According to Simon Phillips on YouTube, Chelsea have added Newcastle United talent Lewis Miley to their watch list. The 20-year-old already has six goals and eight assists in 89 games for the Magpies. Phillips said, “They are players that Chelsea are scouting this season and running weekly reports on.”

Alongside the Newcastle graduate, two more English talents have caught the eye in West London. Fulham midfielder Josh King and 19 year old Everton regular Harrison Armstrong are both drawing interest. Speaking about the Everton teenager, Phillips noted, “Harrison Armstrong of Everton is another youngster that Chelsea are watching.” Meanwhile, Arsenal star Myles Lewis Skelly completes the list.

Unlike the other three names, the Arsenal youngster is a familiar target for the Blues. In fact, club chiefs have already reached out to his camp over a possible move across London. As per Football365, Phillips said, “Chelsea have looked at him in the last couple of windows, and they have actually made contact and spoke to his agents. The other three are completely new names.”

Xabi Alonso Still Wants Alex Scott Signed Before January

While those four youngsters remain longer-term options, Bournemouth star Alex Scott is still the top priority for January. Boss Xabi Alonso has already spoken with the midfielder to convince him to join Chelsea. Furthermore, Scott has verbally agreed to personal terms that fit the club wage bill. Phillips said, “By the end of December, they want it all agreed, in place, so they can get him in.”

Even with the player ready to sign and chatting with current Chelsea stars, one big hurdle remains. The Blues still need to agree to a fee with Bournemouth, who want at least £90m for their prized asset. Because rival clubs are also circling, Chelsea cannot afford to drag their feet in talks with the Cherries. Locking down Scott before New Year’s Day is the main job before turning to Miley.
