Josue Paluku was part of the disorder following the Scottish champions' penalty-kick Scottish Cup quarter-final win over Rangers at Ibrox on March 8 this year.
The 24-year-old had been among 7500 Celtic fans in the Broomloan Road end that afternoon.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard today how Paluku sprinted down from the stand after Martin O'Neill's men clinched the victory.
Fiscal Abbas Ali said: “He gestured towards opposing Rangers supporters with the middle fingers of both hands.
“Paluku then crossed over the advertising boards separating the track from the pitch and moved towards the other fans.”
The court heard he got onto the pitch, but not the actual field of play.
Paluku initially backed away, but then a Rangers yob hurled a corner flag directly at celebrating Celtic fans.
Mr Ali said: “Paluku picked it up and threw it in the direction of Rangers supporters.
“It struck an unknown female Celtic fan on the top of her head. She was seen to hold her head where the flag struck.”
Paluku was then seen racing back in among the crowds.
He was captured on CCTV during the probe into the chaotic scenes.
Mr Ali added: “Paluku's image was released to the media and he was then identified.”
Paluku, of the city's Maryhill, pleaded guilty to culpably and recklessly throwing a corner flag, risking injury to the woman and to the danger of others.
He further admitted a breach of the peace.
Paluku had his bail continued as sentencing was adjourned until December.
