With Markus Krösche expected to head to AC Milan, questions have arisen about his number two and answers may arrive shortly.
In recent weeks, talks of Krösche becoming Milan’s Head of Football has only increased. He has gone from a hope to a possibility and it seems increasingly likely. In fact, Gerry Cardinale plans to intensify talks with the German this week.
However, he may not arrive by himself.
With talk of Krösche, there have also been questions about the potential arrival of his number two, sporting director Timmo Hardung. Though his compatriot hasn’t been as likely to also leave Frankfurt, it has been seen as a possibility. That could be changing now, with a new update arriving today.
Speaking on his X account, Sky Sport Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg provided an update on the future of Hardung, with his former partner Krösche seemingly headed to Casa Milan, as MilanNews relays.
“Sporting director Timmo Hardung’s future at Eintracht Frankfurt depends on the new sporting board member. Desired target Christoph Spycher has asked for more time to consider the offer.
“Hardung, under contract until 2028, is highly valued internally and has held good discussions with Hellmann/Beck. Current focus: SGE and the winter transfer window.
“One option if he leaves: a move alongside Markus Krösche. Hardung is also highly regarded for his work behind the scenes and the development of new signings.”
