Michael Carrick has now responded to Amad Diallo’s X-rated message on social media after Manchester United’s defeat to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday evening.
Amad Diallo made his first appearance for Manchester United in the 2026-27 campaign earlier this week after he finally overcame his ankle injury.
The 24-year-old Ivorian winger climbed off the bench in the second half and replaced Marcus Rashford in the 66th minute of the Champions League clash.
Amad’s performance was not the major talking point about his return, but it was rather what the United star showed in his unfiltered reaction to Atletico Madrid’s win.
It’s a situation where there are ways of doing it. It shows the boys care an awful lot. There are ways of doing it, they showed the emotion but we have to channel it in the right manner.

Amad Diallo took to social media platform Snapchat and vented his frustrations at the controversial officiating in 10-man Manchester United’s 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid.
“F—— disgrace I have no words,” he wrote.
Man Utd were trailing 1-0 to Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano Stadium after Pablo Barrios struck for the Spanish side inside the opening minute of the clash. However, Michael Carrick’s men suffered a major setback after Leny Yoro received a straight red and was dismissed in the second half.
Speaking at Friday’s press conference at the Carrington training complex, Carrick was asked about Amad’s X-rated message and the 45-year-old United manager made his feelings clear on the situation.
“It’s a situation where there are ways of going about it and learning a little bit,” he said, as per the Manchester Evening News.
“We’ve got to show the emotion in the right manner.”
Man Utd are 13th in the Premier League table and the Red Devils have won once and drawn twice and lost three of their opening six Premier League fixtures. Leeds, on the other hand, are seventh and three points clear of United ahead of Sunday afternoon’s Premier League clash.
Daniel Farke’s men have chalked up two victories from their first six Premier League matches this season, as Leeds have picked up two draws and three defeats so far. Man Utd and Leeds’ Premier League showdown at Elland Road is slated for a 2pm kick-off time in the UK.
