The Baltimore Ravens (4-5) suffered their fourth straight loss of the 2026 NFL regular season at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars in their Week 9 matchup in Maryland on Thursday.
The 33-10 loss to the Jaguars has raised a lot of questions about the team’s offense, and Baltimore now faces a diminished 5% chance of making the playoffs, according to The Athletic’s playoff simulator.
Reacting to the Ravens’ fifth loss of the season to the Jaguars, former NFL offensive guard Willie Colon on the “Good Morning Football” show on Friday expressed his disappointment with the team’s lack of fight and intensity on both sides of the ball. The Super Bowl XLIII winner also questioned whether the offensive line could turn things around with the arrival of quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals.
“I think the Ravens right now, as they push forward, you just want to see a lot more fight and pride. And they didn’t really get that through all both sides of the ball. The defense let up explosive plays, and the offensive line can only, at this point, figure out if they get Jacoby Brissett, man. Hopefully, he can elevate them and give them a lift. But right now, man, it’s dark days for the Baltimore Ravens,” Colon said (1:02 Timestamp).
The Baltimore Ravens are now playing without two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson against the backdrop of the quarterback suffering a potentially season-ending thumb injury in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills. Their initial backup quarterback, Tyler Huntley, is also out for the season after he sustained a toe injury in the same game as Jackson.
The Ravens have finalized a trade for quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals to address some of the offensive issues the team is currently facing.
After starting their 2026 NFL regular season campaign with four wins in their first five games, the Baltimore Ravens are currently in the midst of a four-loss slump with no visible way out due to injuries to star quarterback Lamar Jackson and backup signal-caller Tyler Huntley.
While the Brissett trade clearly seems like a contingency plan the Ravens wouldn’t have thought of prior to the season, head coach Jesse Minter must devise a foolproof plan for his offense in their Week 10 encounter against the Los Angeles Chargers if they still want to keep their playoff hopes alive.
While it remains to be seen who starts for the Ravens at quarterback in Week 10, their depth chart shows undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano as starter. Quarterback Austin Reed and new addition Jacoby Brissett are named as the team’s second and third-string quarterbacks, respectively. The Ravens’ 23-point loss to the Jaguars in Week 9 saw Fagnano start for them, and it won’t come as a surprise if Minter decides to change things up, potentially bumping up Brissett as the new starter.
