Here's a look at three offensive keys to victory for the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Week 6 matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has finally arrived, and we have pinpointed several offensive keys to victory for the Steel City brand of football.
From getting the ball into the hands of the biggest star on the Steelers' offense to getting more production out of a second-round rookie wide receiver, here's a look at three offensive keys to victory for the Steelers' Week 6 matchup against the Buccaneers.
Warren is by far the Steelers' best player on offense, and it's not even close. Warren's 410 rushing yards are tied for the sixth-most in the NFL, in addition to leading the Steelers with 230 receiving yards. Tampa Bay is going to do everything in its power to limit Warren's impact, and the Steelers need to do whatever they can to get the ball into his hands.
The Steelers are currently running play-action at the fifth-lowest rate (18.7%) in the NFL, and defenses will begin to take advantage of this now that Warren has emerged as a top-five running back. The Bucs are going to have all eyes on Warren in Week 6, but the Steelers can capitalize on the additional focus with more play-action calls.
Bernard is a yards-after-catch machine, capable of making plays all over the offensive alignment. With Roman Wilson and Michael Pittman Jr. sidelined, the Steelers' offense will have no choice but to carve out a big role for Bernard in Week 6. Whether it's through jet sweeps, touch passes, bubble screens or even catching passes out of the backfield, Bernard needs touches in Week 6.
