Inter moved to 19 points after seven Serie A matches with their 3-1 comeback win at Bologna, matching a milestone they had reached only three times before in the three-point era.
Tommaso Pobega put Bologna ahead in the 10th minute, but Marcus Thuram levelled shortly before half-time. Second-half substitutes Carlos Augusto and Ange-Yoan Bonny scored to complete the turnaround at the Dall’Ara on Saturday, October 17.
Sky Sport reported that Inter’s sixth win in seven league games kept them at the top of the table. BeIN Sports also noted that the Nerazzurri remained unbeaten through the opening seven rounds.
BeIN Sports reported that Inter had previously collected 19 points after seven matches in 1997-98 under Luigi Simoni, 2002-03 under Héctor Cúper and 2017-18 under Luciano Spalletti. Those previous starts at this pace did not automatically lead to the Scudetto, a historical caveat to the latest strong opening.
The result also extended a pattern of recovering from deficits under Cristian Chivu. Inter have produced other league comebacks this season, including against Udinese and Napoli, with the win at Bologna adding another three points to their tally.
Against Palladino’s side, the decisive contributions came from the bench: Carlos Augusto scored in the 69th minute, then set up Bonny for the third in the 83rd. The latter goal followed an earlier Bonny finish ruled out for offside.
Inter’s next challenge is to maintain that pace across the coming league fixtures. The 19-point mark is now secured; matching it in future seasons will require another seven-match start at the same level.
