Both sides went into this Devon League match desperately looking for some improved form, but in the end had to settle for a point each.
It was the visitors who took the lead in the first half when they took advantage of a defensive lapse, leaving The Otters plenty to do in the second period.
The home side did eventually find a goal, with Andy Ellis converting from the penalty spot after he had been fouled in the box to level the scores.
Despite the goal, Ottery could not find a winner, and they will seek greater consistency when they travel to Topsham on Saturday (October 24) in the Devon League Cup.
The game starts at 2.30pm.
There was a narrow defeat for Ottery St. Mary Reserves in the Premier Division of the Devon and Exeter League when they were beaten 2-1 at East Budleigh.
Ottery St. Mary WFC went down 2-1 to Alphington, though it was a plucky performance with the side down to nine players in the final stages.
Kaila Weddell was shown a straight red for a deliberate handball, and Alphington took the lead from the penalty kick that followed.
Later they went down to nine players before Lucy Spiller pulled a goal back to salvage something from the game.
Manager Dan Carthew said: “When things get tough, these players stand together, dig in and keep going. Results come and go. Character lasts.”
