Tenby sailors enjoy sparkling day on the water
Dinghy racing in Tenby

A BEAUTIFUL sunny day saw seven boats compete in two dinghy races at Tenby Sailing Club on Saturday, 17 October, writes Geoff Titterton.

R225 made the best starts and showed great speed in the mildly choppy conditions. R228 and R241 were close behind.

The two Ospreys did not get to take off in the light airs, and R178 and R 252 had their chances when the wind filled from behind.

Results:

Race 1: 1, R225, Mike and Deanna Stace; 2, R228, Bill and Nan Dowell; 3, R241, Steve Popple and Michelle James; 4, Osprey 1342, Ted Lewis and Richard Lewis; 5, R252, Julian Cumpsty and Peter Prosser; 6, R178 Kevin Upstill and Gary Jarvis; 7, Osprey 1330, John McKellar and Alistair Knibb.

Race 2: R225, R228, Osprey 1342, R241, R252, R178, Osprey 1330.

The competitors thanked Peter Randles and his assistant Darcy for setting the courses to make a most enjoyable afternoon.
