The keeper was born in London and joined the Hale End Academy’s Under 9s.
Mitchell remained with the Gunners until 2020, when he was given a two-year scholarship by the club.

Mitchell was unable to break through into Swansea’s first team, and after two years with the Welsh club, he became a free agent.
The youngster’s future in the game was uncertain, and he joined non-league outfit Haringey in October 2024.
Mitchell initially had a month out on loan at Aylesbury United before he returned to Haringey, where he spent the second half of the 2024/25 season.
Three years after being released by the Gunners, the Premier League club decided to re-sign him for their academy.
They had clearly seen enough at Haringey to determine that Mitchell deserved another chance at the highest level.
The shot-stopper played 4 times for the Under-21s during the 2025/26 campaign, as well as spending some time with the senior setup as a training keeper.
It looks like Mitchell is continuing as the club’s training keeper, with Tommy Setford having been sent out on loan to Stevenage.
He hasn’t featured for the Under-21s so far this campaign, with head coach David Horseman also having the likes of Jack Porter, Lucas Nygaard and Khari Ranson to choose from.
It means Mitchell’s long-term future at the club remains uncertain, but he is certainly gaining a lot of experience whilst training with the first-team setup.
