Fourteen years after his pro debut, Mandel Nallo picked up his first UFC win Saturday at age 37. It was beautiful and it was violent.
The longtime Tristar staple and Georges St-Pierre training partner, Nallo (15-4 MMA 1-1 UFC) proved the moment was worth the wait as he dismantled Nate Landwehr (18-9 MMA, 5-7 UFC) in a one-sided technical beatdown. Nallo stopped the fight with a leg kick and punches at 0:47 of Round 2. The lightweight bout opened the UFC Fight Night 291 main card at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Nallo began with his jab, which he drilled into Landwehr's face over and over. His other punches were mixed in and began taking a toll. Nallo then added leg kicks into the fray, which hindered Landwehr even further. He got the fight to the ground late in Round 1 prior to the horn.
In Round 2, it was over before it began. Landwehr came out aggressive and was swiftly met with brutal punches. As Landwehr retreated, Nallo booted his leg once more and finished the fight with punches.
Nallo, 37, has been a fan favorite for years for his exciting fights in Bellator, unique style, and now-retired nickname "Rat Garbage", though he didn't get his shot until a win on Dana White's Contender Series in 2025. Nallo looked good in his debut but ultimately was put down and out by a Jai Herbert comeback.
After the fight, Landwehr took off his gloves but did not make a retirement announcement. The loss was his fourth in a row.
