Kasper Hogh’s continued struggles at Celtic have come at a rather apt time for a former Hoops striker.
Last season, Martin O’Neill had Kelechi Iheanacho at his disposal, scoring nine goals in 24 matches as Celtic went on to secure the domestic double.
Since then, Hogh moved to Celtic for a club-record transfer from Bodo/Glimt, scoring in just one game this season, while Iheanacho is eating it up in Turkey’s second tier.
On Thursday, Bursaspor beat Mugla 3-0, with Iheanacho netting a brace, and thus becoming the first man in the history of professional football in Turkey to score in ten consecutive matches.

Everyone knew Iheanacho’s issues at Celtic last season wasn’t his quality, but availability and whether he could be trusted to play 90 minutes.
Either way, for whatever reason, Celtic opted to re-sign Iheanacho, and now he has scored 14 goals in ten matches for Bursaspor.
Yes, some may argue that there is a gulf between Celtic and Turkey’s second tier, especially given what he is coming up against.
But his ridiculous goalscoring form still shouldn’t be ignored, but applauded, because this is quite an astonishing run the former Leicester City man is on.
Not forgetting that Iheanacho also netted for Nigeria during the three-week international break, so make that 11 games in a row in which he has scored.
