Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce remains eligible to return to practice, however, that won't be the case this week, said head coach Shane Steichen on Wednesday.
It also remains to be seen when Pierce will be back this season.
“He’s rehabbing, can’t put a timetable on it right now," Steichen said, via Kevin Bowen's 107.5 The Fan.
Pierce is still rehabbing his re-aggravated left heel, which he injured in Week 2 against Kansas City. Pierce underwent offseason surgery on the same injury.
Without Pierce to stretch the field, the Colts' passing game has been stagnant without that vertical presence.
Over the last two seasons, Pierce has led the NFL in yards per catch. He eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in 2025.
This offseason, Pierce signed a four-year, $114 million deal to return to the Colts in free agency.
