Olivia Smith spoke about a 1-1 draw between Birmingham City and Arsenal.
The Gunners were ten points adrift of league-leading defending champions Manchester City before the beginning of the international break, and they wanted a fast start at the Emirates Stadium.
The best chances of the first half went to the hosts as Alessia Russo slammed the post with a header from a Leah Williamson deep delivery. However, the game was goalless at the midway mark of the match, and Océane Hurtré stunned the crowd with a sixth goal in six WSL games on the counter.
Smith retaliated with a shot from distance to level the scoreline, and Arsenal attempted to go for all three points before the final whistle. Lotte Wubben-Moy, whose back post connection to a Smilla Holmberg free kick was foiled by the goalkeeper, came the closest to grabbing the goal desired.
In the end, the victory was elusive, and it was another disappointing day for the title aspirants.
"It is quite frustrating not to get the result. I think we just need more urgency within the first half, to bring it like we did in the second half and again, put the ball in the back of the net and get our goal.
"Glad to take away a point, but again, it just needs to be better. [We need] to keep improving and keep fighting and staying together.
"The most important thing is for us to stay together, build confidence within training, repetition in front of goal, because we need goals at the minute.
"[The supporters] always bring out great support, [we're] so happy to have them here. Again, we are disappointed not to get the result, must be frustrating for them, but they stay with us and support us."
