Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes have brought their rivalry outside WWE once again. The two WWE superstars faced off in a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors while promoting the upcoming Street Fighter movie. The moment gave fans another look at their competitive side away from the wrestling ring.
The Tribal Chief and The American Nightmare appeared on BuzzFeed Celeb alongside fellow cast members, including Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, Callina Liang, Andrew Schulz, Eric André, and David Dastmalchian. The group took part in a team trivia challenge, with Reigns representing “Winners” and Rhodes playing for “Ansatsuken.”
The competition came down to the two former WrestleMania opponents in a final tiebreaker. With both teams waiting for the result, Reigns and Rhodes faced each other and prepared to settle things with a Rock-Paper-Scissors game.
The other participants treated the moment as a potential viral highlight. They encouraged the WWE stars to trust their instincts and maintain eye contact before making their choices. The rest of the cast also joined in on the banter.
The contest began, and both WWE superstars came up with Scissors at first, which felt like even the universe was hyping up their competitive rivalry from WWE to real life.
However, in the second trial, Reigns came up with Stone while Rhodes came up with Paper. The tiebreaker ended with a dramatic finish, and the Ansatsuken team celebrated after securing the win.
Their BuzzFeed appearance was also notable because it was the only promotional interview where the two stars appeared together while promoting Street Fighter.
It was also reported that Reigns and Rhodes had some tension on the set of the movie. During an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Rhodes revealed that the production crew tried to keep the two men apart. According to The American Nightmare, the crew seemed worried that their intense WWE rivalry might lead to a real-life confrontation.
