‘The Vikings Would Win It All With Him,’ ‘Take Lamar (Jackson) Tomorrow’ — Falcons Legend Wants Ravens Star out of Baltimore for His Own Good

All eyes are on what the Baltimore Ravens have in mind for Lamar Jackson. After signing the franchise star to a five-year deal that runs out after the 2027 season, a new contract negotiation cycle is right around the corner.

But his injury concerns have made it a legitimate debate, as opposed to a foregone conclusion. For an Atlanta Falcons icon, though, those doubts are so bizarre that he wants Jackson to look for a new home.

Falcons Legend Stunned by Disrespect to Lamar Jackson

When healthy, the production from Jackson has been undeniable. Even this season, he started the year ranked at number 2 in PFN’s Quarterback Impact Score. But health has become a major question mark for the superstar quarterback.

Including this year, he has missed extended periods of time in four of the last six seasons.

However, Roddy White doesn’t think the media or the Ravens are being fair to one of the defining quarterbacks of his generation. For him, the resume alone demands that Jackson be given a new contract.

“I think Lamar Jackson is under contract next year,” White argued. “A man with 2 MVPs and multiple All-Pros, y’all saying his team don’t want him.”

Continuing his frustration, he added, “I know them [Minnesota] Vikings would win it all with him. [Justin Jefferson] Jetta and [Jordan] Addison take Lamar tomorrow.”

For the Vikings, their 6-1 start has been a remarkable opening salvo. But anyone watching Minnesota in action can see the problems on the offensive side of the ball. While their defense is allowing the fewest points of any team in the league, the quarterback situation has been far from perfect.

After giving Kyler Murray the keys to the franchise over former first-round pick J.J. McCarthy, Murray has responded with just five touchdowns and three interceptions in five full games, ranking at number 25 inPFN’s Quarterback Impact Score.

It’s led to increasing frustration with one of the best players in franchise history, Jefferson, who refused to speak to the media after their first loss of the season in Week 9.

An upgrade at the quarterback spot, potentially with Jackson, as White alluded, would transform the team entirely.

As a result, he believes the Ravens need to give him an extension, or a multitude of other teams would jump at the opportunity to sign him. Ian Rapoport reported this week that the Ravens do not believe their season is done, especially after trading for Jacoby Brissett to tide things over until Jackson is back in action.
