Bouanani has taken time to settle but has increasingly shown his quality, with McInnes impressed by the different dimension he offers Rangers in attacking areas.

Asked whether it would be possible to keep Bouanani beyond his current loan spell, McInnes said: “Oh, I don't know anything about that. I don't even know what the figure is to make it permanent.

“It was just a kind of last-minute loan deal that we were keen to push through. So, I don't really know the ins and outs of the deal.

“But certainly for now, we're enjoying working with Badredine. I think he's shown his quality. He's took a wee bit of time to get up to speed.

“But he's someone who I think when you get, particularly when you play against a team with a lower block, he's somebody that I think something's going to happen, whether it's the last pass, the last cross or the shot.”

McInnes believes the winger is getting closer to making an even bigger contribution after scoring his first goal at Dens Park.

He continued: “And he's getting closer and closer to adding to his one goal at Dens Park. So, he's been a good addition to the team.

“I brought him in at Dens Park because I've seen how he was training. Sometimes you just can't ignore what you're seeing in training.

“And he's somebody who gives us something a wee bit different. But another one who's very confident and hopefully there's more to come for him.”
