A former Georgia Bulldog had his first marquee moment in the NFL. Cornerback Daylen Everette, as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2), earned his first NFL interception in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-5). He did it in style too, snagging the pass with one hand.
The Steelers were down 16-3 against the Buccaneers when the Steelers started to rally. Steelers Aaron Rodgers found former Georgia Bulldog Darnell Washington for a touchdown to make it 16-10, and in the next drive, at the Tampa Bay 32, Buccaneers quarterback Jalon Daniels tried to find Emeka Egbuka for a third down, but he was picked off by Everette.
Everette was selected in the third round of the 2026 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He made his first tackle in the opener against the Atlanta Falcons and made his first start against the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 11. He and Darnell Washington are the only Georgia Bulldogs on the Steelers.
Everette earned his draft stock after a solid tenure at Georgia (2022-25). He finished with 150 total tackles, five tackles for loss, a sack, five interceptions, 19 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and a scoop-and-score. That scoop-and-score occurred in the Sugar Bowl against Ole Miss in his last career game. He was a member of the All-SEC first team in 2025.
