Colombe Sportive aim to defend two-goal advantage against Teungueth FC

La Colombe Sportive du Dja-et-Lobo will host Teungueth FC on Sunday in the second leg of their second preliminary-round tie in the CAF Champions League, holding a 2-0 lead from the first meeting.

The Cameroonian side will be seeking to complete the job and secure qualification after producing a strong away performance in the opening leg. Their defensive organisation and ability to contain Teungueth FC provided the foundation for that result.

La Colombe Sportive are expected to retain much of the structure that served them well in the first match. The team is likely to line up with a compact defensive block, while the attacking players who made the difference in the first leg are set to keep their places.

Probable Colombe Sportive line-up

Goalkeeper: Edouard Sombang

Defenders: Akoh Anjeh, Atsiga, Moubarak Katawiri, Michel Junior Mbeleck

Midfielders: Patrick Edzimbii, Randy Ntuwe, Arthur Yene, Jude Enow

Forwards: Steeve Lima, Adam Musah

Teungueth FC must overturn a two-goal deficit if they are to progress, but the Senegalese club will rely on its collective strength as it attempts to keep the tie alive.

Pape Dieng, Moustapha Gueye, Raphael Ndong and Ibrahima Aidara are among the players expected to play important roles for the visiting side. Teungueth FC will need a disciplined display and greater attacking efficiency to reverse the result from the first leg.

Probable Teungueth FC line-up

Goalkeeper: Pape Dieng

Defenders: Pa Diouf, Alassane Ly, Mouhamed Ndiaye, Moustapha Gueye

Midfielders: Ousmane Thiombane, Raphael Ndong, Mame Diaw

Forwards: Patrick Basse, Mouhamed Diouf, Ibrahima Aidara

The return fixture will determine which side advances from the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. La Colombe Sportive enter the match with the advantage, while Teungueth FC must find a way to score at least twice without conceding.

The published odds give La Colombe Sportive a 1.47 price for victory, with a draw at 3.60 and a Teungueth FC win at 6.00.
