MATCH REPORT: Black Starlets top Group A after goalless draw against Burkina Faso

Ghana’s Black Starlets secured top spot in Group A of the 2026 WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship after playing out a goalless draw against hosts Burkina Faso.

The result confirmed Ghana’s place in the semi-finals after an unbeaten group-stage campaign, with two wins and one draw from their three matches.

The Black Starlets began the competition with a 1-0 victory over Togo before recording an impressive 3-1 win against Benin to strengthen their chances of progressing to the next round.

Against Burkina Faso in the final group game, Kassim Mingle’s men held their ground to secure the point needed to finish the group with seven points and maintain their unbeaten record.

The semi-finals are scheduled for October 20, with Ghana now one step away from reaching the final of the competition.

Reaching the final will guarantee the Black Starlets qualification for the 2027 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
