HNK Rijeka striker Daniel Adu-Adjei has earned his first opportunity to represent Ghana after being named in the Black Meteors' 23-man squad for the 2027 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya.
The 21-year-old is among the eight foreign-based players selected by head coach Desmond Ofei for the two-legged encounter, following an impressive start to the 2026/27 season in Croatia.
Adu-Adjei has scored seven goals in 14 appearances for Rijeka this season, establishing himself as an important attacking option for the Croatian side.
Born in London to Ghanaian parents, the forward holds dual British and Ghanaian citizenship and is now set to begin his international journey with the West African nation.
He developed through the youth systems of Brentford and Fulham before joining Bournemouth in 2021.
During his time at Bournemouth, Adu-Adjei impressed with the club's development sides, particularly at U21 level, where he regularly found the net. He also gained senior experience through loan spells at Poole Town, Leyton Orient and Carlisle United.
He eventually moved to Croatia in August 2025 to join HNK Rijeka, where his performances have continued to improve.
His inclusion in Ofei's squad represents a significant opportunity to establish himself at international level as Ghana seek qualification for the 2027 U-23 AFCON in Egypt.
The Black Meteors will face Libya in the first leg in Benghazi on Wednesday, November 11, with the return fixture to follow.
