AS FAR and Kawempe Muslim Ladies have booked their places in the semi-finals of the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League after securing victories in their final Group B matches on Sunday in Egypt.
Defending champions AS FAR finished top of the group following a 2-0 win over Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies, while Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim Ladies claimed second place after recording a convincing 3-0 victory against USFAS Bamako.
Kawempe Muslim delivered a commanding performance against USFAS Bamako, taking control of the contest from the opening stages as they pursued a place in the last four.
Agnes Nabukenya put the Ugandan side ahead in the 23rd minute before Jovia Nakagolo doubled their advantage six minutes before half-time to give Kawempe a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break.
Nabukenya returned to the scoresheet in the 71st minute, completing her brace and putting the result beyond doubt with a third goal.
The victory secured second place in Group B for Kawempe Muslim Ladies, who have now reached the semi-finals for the first time in their history.
Meanwhile, AS FAR maintained their strong campaign with a victory over Ampem Darkoa Ladies to finish at the summit of the group.
The Ghanaian champions managed to keep the Moroccan side at bay for much of the encounter before captain Ghizlane Chebbak broke the deadlock in the 59th minute.
Youssoufi added a second goal deep into stoppage time, scoring in the 90+6th minute to confirm the 2-0 victory and ensure AS FAR finished as group winners.
With the group stage now concluded, attention shifts to Wednesday’s semi-final fixtures.
AS FAR will face Cameroonian side Lekié Football Filles, while Kawempe Muslim Ladies are set to battle South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns for a place in the final.
The results also bring Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ campaign to an end, with the Ghanaian representatives missing out on a place in the knockout stages.
