Lamine Yamal channelled his inner Lionel Messi to lead Barcelona's 5-2 rout of Real Betis in LaLiga on Saturday, October 17. Yamal opened the scoring with a stunning left-footed curler from the edge of the box, sending the Estadio La Cartuja crowd into a frenzy.
The 19-year-old picked up the ball on the right, dribbled past his marker to create space and whipped a shot into the top corner with surgical precision. It was the kind of goal Barcelona fans had grown accustomed to watching Messi score throughout the 2010s, a reminder of the Argentine's ability to turn a moment of individual brilliance into a defining moment in a match.

Yamal's strike set the tone for Barcelona, who continued their remarkable goalscoring run in LaLiga. However, the league leaders had to work for their victory, with Betis managing six shots on target of their own and keeping the contest competitive before Barcelona eventually pulled away.
The visitors took the lead in the 10th minute, but Betis drew level in the 27th through Valentin Gomez, who headed home Pablo Fornals' cross. Barcelona restored their advantage just before half-time when Rodri powered a header past the goalkeeper from Fermin Lopez's corner.
Betis thought they had equalised again through Giovani Lo Celso's spectacular volley, only for the goal to be ruled out for a handball in the build-up.
Barcelona extended their lead shortly after the break, with Yamal turning provider as Gabriel Jesus finished his cutback in the 51st minute. Betis responded almost immediately through Ez Abde, but their hopes of mounting a comeback suffered a major blow when Facundo Bernal was sent off following an altercation with Yamal.
With a numerical advantage, Barcelona found more room to attack. Eric Garcia made it 4-2 in the 63rd minute after Betis goalkeeper Alvaro Valles failed to deal with Yamal's free kick, before substitute Dani Olmo completed the scoring with a curling effort from outside the box in the 81st minute.
The victory extended Barcelona's perfect start to the league season to nine wins from nine matches, taking their tally to 27 points and keeping them five clear of Atletico Madrid at the top of the table.
