Hearts of Oak coach Nebojsa Kapor says his players must continue improving if they are to maintain their recent run of victories and remain competitive in the Ghana Premier League.
The Phobians have won their last two matches against Port City FC and Vision FC, both by 1-0 margins, ahead of Friday’s home fixture against Basake Holy Stars at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Kapor believes there is always room for improvement and has challenged his players to identify areas where they can raise their performance levels.
“In our job, every day involves analysing ourselves. We all start with ourselves, me first, and then every single player. Every day, if we cannot find something to improve, we are in trouble,” he said.
Hearts sit second in the standings with 14 points from seven matches, two points ahead of fifth-placed Basake Holy Stars, who also head into the encounter on the back of a victory.
Kapor insists his team must not become complacent despite their recent progress, stressing that consistent improvement is essential in football.
“If you are not performing better today than yesterday, and if you are not performing better tomorrow than today, you are going down, and that will be a very serious opponent against yourself,” he added.
Hearts will hope to turn that continued improvement into a third consecutive league victory when they host Basake Holy Stars on Friday, October 23, with kick-off at 5:00 pm GMT.
