Ghanaian goalkeeper Joseph Anang has been named St. Patrick’s Athletic Player of the Season for 2026 following an impressive campaign with the Irish club.

The shot-stopper has enjoyed a standout season, establishing himself as one of the team’s most influential players through his consistent performances, crucial saves and ability to keep opponents from scoring.

Anang has recorded 11 clean sheets in the league, demonstrating his importance to St. Patrick’s Athletic’s defensive stability with one match remaining in the campaign.

His individual statistics further underline his impact. The Ghanaian ranks first in the league for goals prevented, with a figure of 4.91, indicating that his performances have helped his team concede fewer goals than expected based on the quality of chances faced.

The Player of the Season recognition rewards Anang’s contribution to the team and reflects the value of his performances over the course of the campaign.

With one match still to play, the goalkeeper has an opportunity to add to his clean-sheet tally and finish the season on an even stronger note.

His achievement is also a positive development for Ghanaian football, as the goalkeeper continues to build his reputation through regular performances in European football.
