Heart of Lions look set to put behind them a tumultuous week when they welcome Bechem United to Kpando for the matchday 9 encounter in the Ghana Premier League.

The Kpando-based side suffered a painful defeat to Biabiani GoldStars last week after conceding in the final minute of the game, before their coach Kasim Gokyldez resigned few days after. This has left the club in a desperate situation, having now gone three matches without a point.

Meanwhile, Bechem United arrive in Kpando with confidence high following the 3-0 thumping of Debibi United.

While Heart of Lions struggle for form, Bechem United have had a decent start to the season, with four wins from 8 matches and currently sit sixth on the league log.

Lions are just a point above the drop zone, with just 8 points from 8 matches.

Stephen Ahorlu, a former Ghana goalkeeper, is expected to lead the team as interim head coach, and will be counting on the experience of Ishmael Addo and goalkeeper Prince Asempa to turn around their season.

On the other hand, Kofi Tompuo and Augustine Okrah have shone for the Hunters and play a pivotal role in their campaign so far.

Bechem United have won 50% of their GPL matches against Lions, putting them in good position ahead of Sunday's clash. In ten matches, Lions have won only three, with two ending in a draw.

The match at the Kpando Sports Stadium is expected to produce an entertaining encounter as Lions revive their season while Bechem United keep their top 4 hopes alive.
